The Slum Hospital and small clinics for the community in Jaipur offer a unique opportunity for international volunteers to make a meaningful impact and gain valuable experience in the field of healthcare.

As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to work with local healthcare professionals and assist in providing essential medical care to underserved communities. Your responsibilities may include assisting doctors and nurses with patient care, conducting health screenings and check-ups, providing health education and information to the community, and participating in outreach programs.

Working in a slum hospital and small clinics will expose you to a wide range of medical conditions and challenges that are unique to this setting. As an international volunteer in our Medical Care Slum Clinic and Hospital in Jaipur, India, you'll have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of activities to support our mission of providing free healthcare services to the city's most vulnerable communities. Here are just a few examples of the types of tasks you might undertake:

Providing basic medical care: Depending on your level of medical training and experience, you may be able to provide basic medical care to patients at our clinic, such as administering medications, providing wound care, and monitoring vital signs.

Assisting with patient intake: You can help our staff with checking patients in, obtaining medical histories and vitals, and guiding them to their appointments.

Helping with community outreach: In addition to providing direct patient care, we also engage in community outreach to educate people about important health issues, promote healthy behaviors, and provide preventive health services. You can help us with this outreach by participating in health fairs, distributing health information materials, and going door-to-door to reach people in the community.

Organizing health camps: We also organize regular health camps in the slum communities we serve, where patients can receive a range of medical services and consultations. As a volunteer, you can help us with organizing these events, setting up equipment and stations, and assisting with patient care.

Administrative work: Our clinic also requires administrative support, such as data entry, filing, and record keeping. You can help with these tasks to ensure our operations run smoothly.

Overall, your volunteer activities will depend on your interests and level of experience, as well as the needs of our clinic and hospital. Whatever your role, you'll be making a meaningful impact on the lives of those we serve, and we thank you for your support.

Currently, we have 02 volunteer accommodations and both of them are duly registered with the Department of Tourism for foreign tourist stays. The first Volunteer accommodation has four bedrooms, each furnished with single beds and comfortable bedding to provide a restful sleep for 11 participants at a time. The bedrooms are spacious, and well-lit, and offer a peaceful atmosphere for volunteers to unwind after a long day of work. The second volunteer house is a 4-bedroom apartment with bunk beds in one room and 02 single beds in another room with an Indian host family, close to the first accommodation. Amenities in the accommodation are as follows:

We have designed the accommodation as a ‘Home away from home’ for the volunteers and have thought about comfort, safety, and relaxation in their leisure time. We also have kept some rules and regulations for all the participants to follow to make their experience much better.

Services not included: Flights to India, Visa, Vaccinations, Insurance, Daily local transportation to the project, and all other personal expenses and weekend trips.

Eligibility for applying as a volunteer traveler

1. Minimum age

The minimum age to apply for a volunteer project is 18 years.

2. Minor Participants (If you are below 18 years)

In case you are a minor and would like to create an impact on the global communities, we need to receive a "No Objection Certificate" signed by your parents. (Please send the NOC through an email after submitting the application form, in case you are a minor.) Click here to Download NOC

3. Guarantee of Participation

Submitting an application form does not guarantee your selection and participation in the project.

4. Program fee

The volunteer programs attract a participation fee that is called as "Program fee". The program fee covers the following services to the volunteer to make the trip more comfortable, meaningful, and reliable.

Costs of organizing the trip: There are costs associated with organizing and coordinating a volunteer trip, including arranging accommodations, transportation, and meals. These costs may be passed on to volunteers in the form of a fee.

Support and resources: Volunteers may receive support and resources from the organization hosting the volunteer trip, such as training, orientation, and access to local staff. These resources may require additional funding that is covered by the fee.

Sustainability and impact: Many volunteer organizations work towards long-term sustainable development goals and have a lasting impact on the communities they serve. To ensure that the organization's efforts are sustainable and impactful, funds may be required to support ongoing initiatives.

Local community benefits: The fee may be used to directly benefit the local community where volunteers are serving. This can include funding for community development projects, supporting local businesses, and hiring local staff.

3. The volunteers have to follow the code of conduct in the destination country and projects.

4. The local team is responsible for the management of pick-ups, housing, weekend excursions, safety, and well-being of the volunteers, we encourage the trust-building between the volunteers and the local management.

5. You will be working as a representative of your own country and we would highly appreciate it if you leave a very positive impact on the community you work with.
